Comprehensive Pilot Psychological Evaluations
Active pilots and pilot candidates who are seeking an FAA medical certificate may be referred to obtain a psychological assessment as part of their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) special issuance.
Steinmann Institute provides psychological evaluations including the CogScreen-AE2. The Examination Protocols are designed to rapidly assess deficits or changes in attention, immediate and short-term memory, visual perceptual functions, sequencing functions, logical problem-solving, calculation skills, reaction time, simultaneous information processing abilities, and executive functions. These assessments evaluate potential neurocognitive or psychological deficits that might interfere with flight performance or flight training.
